Windsor defensive end Ryan Delaire has accepted an athletic scholarship at UMass.Delaire, a Courant all-defensive lineman, had planned to attend prep school this season, but then his plan changed.”He opened up some eyes at the [Governor's Cup] all-star practices and game,” Windsor coach Rob Fleeting said of the Connecticut-Rhode Island game at the Rent June 26. “He continued to lift and get stronger after our season. He was 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. Now he’s a bigger and stronger 235. He’s projected to be an outside linebacker at UMass.”
